What we want is for Harry to be appointed to the board of Supervisory Body that reviews the work of HM Revenue &Customs. Harry was subjected to a an £8Million witch hunt by tax officials for an alleged tax evasion of about £90k. These officials should never presume that they can spend taxpayers money on such a grand scale without being accountable. Somebody like Harry might succeed in introducing proportionality into future investigations that clearly was absent in this case. The tax official who pursued this case must be a disgruntled Portsmouth fan still angry because Harry left the club to take a ‘Big Club job’.
If these officials had their jobs on the line for spending out £8million tax pounds and getting it so wrong they would not be so gung-ho about pursuing at all costs such a mickey mouse amount. Was the high profiles of the targets the real reason for the ridiculous pursuit?
