Often start up companies are confused what a business phone, office phone or phone system is – and what the justification for investing in one is.
The easiest analogy is this – a non system phone is a ‘dumb terminal’ (as at your home) offering little functionality or efficiency.
A system phone has programmable features customised for your business, such as keys to short dial colleagues, transfer to mobiles or record calls.
A system, or group of system phones also allow a more efficient use of few lines to the number of staff eg 5 staff with office phones can share just 3 lines.

Often we are asked “Which is the best phone system for business ?” The answer is not often a straight forward – “This One!”
Phone Systems offer many features that will suit certain types of business more than others.
For instance a company that uses voicemail alot will require a system with an interface easy to for the users, whereas a larger company with an IT manager will be concerned with centralised management and management of the system, as well as resilience and back up features.
Similarly some environments purposely want a simple handset, with paired down features. Or a robust handset for a dusty or harsh environment which will require a suitable handset, or even a cheap analogue handset which can be replaced when needed (eg in greasy kitchens or School corridors).
Similarly many systems do remote VOIP handsets, but some need a complete over haul of WAN infrastructure to make work, often outside the knowlege, skills and price bracket of a smaller business.
Give us a call and we will consult with you to understand your business type and style – after a chat with you we can get a feel for your culture, and ‘techieness’ and main wants and needs.

Why wait for the budget to see if any new capital allowances are going to be made available to business? When such changes are announced in a budget the changes usually do not apply immediately but in some future date. We are offering substantial capital allowances on the system telephones we are selling on the next couple of months if you are replacing your Avaya phone system.
If any information is required on the products mentioned our contact number is 020 7377 9243.

Be sure to select a communications provider that can provide your business with what it needs – not what they want to supply you.
A supplier should have a number of vendor and supply options.
Often we have been in competitive situations against a ‘One-man-band’ or ‘man-and-a-van’ whilst a customer may save £50-£100 with such an out fit, there are many downsides, we recommend you look for all these in any new comms provider.
1) Support – a depth of back office support, in telephony, adsl, and mobile technologies
2) A selection of vendor equipment (for features, look and feel, integration to other systems in the business)
3) A selection of Tier 1 network providers, with proper wholesale relationship to provide a higher level of service than if you were direct
If you are a small business looking to save money it may be a false economy to buy cheap today, but have to reinvest a year down the line if the cheap option purchased can’t handle voip or voicemail etc..
