Business Confidence very low
Smartinfo Ltd, a City of London based leading supplier of Alcatel, Mitel and Samsung telephone systems along with electronic surveillance and mobile phone solutions have observed the draining away of business confidence.
This is reflected in the number proposals to prospects they have made where no decision has been made or has been deferred. This is even occurring where proposals are self funding and clearly the right and profitable decision for the customer.
The SME market is the major driver of all economies but in the UK the uncertain business outlook is the draining the confidence of these firms.
CEO Zak Coogan believes that the government missed a golden opportunity in the recent Autumn budget when it did not extend same incentives to existing companies as it did to start-ups. Mr. Coogan says this would have the effect of cranking up the main motor of the UK economy and he thinks it is not too late for them to make this change. With a growth in investment there will be more productivity and thus better place to be more competitive.
The UK needs to break out of the moribund over regulated EU style economic management that stifles growth.
Will the government listen?
