A customer in Battersea requested that we look at their telephone system and give them a quote for a maintenance contract. They said that the company who had been maintaining the equipment had gone out of business. They told us they were have many problems and it was costing them a fortune to keep it going. When we visited the premises to inspect the system it was obvious that it would not be possible to offer a maintenance contract on what was effectively an obsolete system.
Just to confirm the state of the system it had a 5” floppy disc-most people have never even seen one!
We asked them for their bills and did an analysis on the spot. Our conclusion was that by delivering their lines using SIP trunks and getting their calls at a lower rates they would end up quids-in if they purchased a now business telephone system. By making the changes we proposed the savings projected were £150 per month and the cost of leasing the new system was £120 per month.
They gave us the go ahead on the spot.

A very sarky email arrived today from a customer today asking why he could not make any international calls and he wanted to know why. He stated that he had to make many calls internationally and the tone of his email was aggressively rude. At Easter as a precaution against fraudster hacking and stealing traffic we placed international call bar on many accounts to protect from this abuse. We responded and explained what we had done and why. In addition we told him that we had made a decision to leave the bar in place until requested by a customer to remove it. Considering he had not made any international calls since 6-Apr-2012 we were not impressed by his exaggerated claims.
We are always stressing to customers the need to providing us with accurate information concerning a problem and not an exaggerated rant.
Most customers are grateful for any assistance we give them when they need a problem solved.
The Barking customer invited us in to do a comprehensive survey of their existing telecommunications infrastructure and the security system they had. The objective of the review was to make suggestions on how to improve the telecommunications and the security system. It was a great opportunity for us to make a significant contribution to their business practices for telecommunications and security system. We visited a customer recently in Balham to replace some telecoms cabling. He is a long standing customer and has never been very interested in embracing new technology. So we were surprised when he produced his latest i-Pad and said it had taught him a lot about the latest electronic devices. He then told us that since he got the new device he now realised that the advice we had given him in the previous year to change his existing phone system for a state of the art model was good advice. Her requested that we re-quote for the replacement of the existing phone system and even suggested some of the phone system applications he would like.
